From newWitch magazine, issue 16
A Field Guide to Otherkin is a worthy and well-researched effort which provides an intelligent exploration of this controversial but fast-growing subculture.
From Mike Gleason
In these two functions of a guidebook she succeeds nicely. She offers guidance for the reader to find their own level of belief and happiness while leading through the tangled path to acceptance.
From Psyche A Field Guide to Otherkin offers an insider’s perspective on the subculture from a variety of voices, and proves a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about it: suggesting balanced self-questioning for those who consider themselves Otherkin, while explaining what it’s all about to the non-’kin, ‘kin-curious.
From Owlspirit's Nest
Lupa is writing as a member of the Otherkin community and manages to avoid the trap that some folks fall into when writing about themselves/their beliefs/their lifestyle/etc. She provides a perspective from the "inside" without losing objectivity. There is an understanding that it is rather hard to prove (to yourself or others) that someone is indeed Other, but at the same time there must be honest self-exploration, including research, and that in-depth exploration is not a quick process.

From Daven's Journal
I think this book should be on the shelf of almost everyone who is interested in Otherkin, Animals and Shamanism or weird subcultures. Lupa does an outstanding job with this book...I believe that this could be the definitive work for some time to come.

From The Wild Hunt
The book, "A Field Guide to Otherkin", explains and explores a growing group of people who identify as something other than human. I have covered this subculture in the past since a large number of Otherkin also identify with modern Pagan religions or occult/magical practices, and there is some tension over their inclusion by Pagans worried about mainstream acceptance. Given this, I felt an interview with the author where we explore this subculture would benefit us far more than a simple review.
