Company of Others - Workshops

These are some of the workshops we have planned for Company of Others. We don't have a set schedule yet (and may not til the gather itself--this may end up being a pretty organic thing). If you have any suggestions or want to present a workshop yourself, contact Lupa or Erelin

Whither Community? - By Lupa

Since we didn't have time for this one last year, it's being offered again! The Otherkin community has been in some interesting places in the past decade, from increased internet exposure to the occasional media appearance. The number of people who identify as Otherkin is on the rise, which raises the question--just where the hell are we going, anyway? And why are we in this handbasket? But in all seriousness, we're at an interesting point in the growth of this subculture. Where are we now, and what direction are we going in? Do you see more groups forming a more formal community, or do you see a continuation of the more individualized, loosely organized setup still quite common today? What are the pros and cons of all of these topics?

Otherkin and Spirituality - By Lupa

While "Otherkin" isn't a religion, for some people it overlaps with personal spirituality. Lupa will lead this discussion, where we can discuss where being 'kin is (or isn't) a part of our spiritual/religious lives, and how we may weave them together to the benefit of both.

Every Little Bit Counts: Everyday Environmentalism

Many people are environmentalists. But sometimes that label can seem a little daunting, especially in the face of such vast issues as global warming, water pollution, and overflowing landfills. Being an everyday environmentalist, however, is as easy as making the decision to buy one piece of organic produce instead of conventional. This workshop focuses on ways in which you can work environmentalism into your everyday life, both magical and mundane.
