On http://www.amazon.com search for your name or the title of your book.
Under the picture of your book will be some links. The fourth link down says: "Publishers: Learn how readers can search inside this book". Click that link to open this url: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/002-4316151-8659241?ie=UTF8&nodeId=14061791
You will be directed to a page that explains the benefits of the search inside program for authors and publishers. There is a link to a FAQ on the search inside program: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=13685751. The FAQ can answer some questions you may have about using this program.
There is another link to sign up for the search inside program, http://www.amazon.com/gp/sitb/publish which redirects you to the Publisher sign up form. Note: An author or a representative of the publisher can apply for the search inside program.
On that page are a number of fields to fill in, as well as a link to the participation agreement. Fill in the fields with all of your information and enter your 10 digit ISBN number for each book. Then select Submit.
You will receive an email from insidethebook-submission@amazon.com. It will include requirements to participate in the program, as well as where to ship books if you want to send physical copies. You can also send pdf files, which we recommend sending to to avoid shipping and handling costs, and to cut down on the time it takes to get the book into the search inside program (It takes 3-5 weeks to scan a pdf file, as opposed to 8-10 weeks for scanning the physical copy of the book).
To send PDF files, you need to response to the email you received, indicating that you want to get a Seller Central Account so you can upload PDF files to the Search Inside program. You will get a response back with an attachment that includes guidelines instructiosn for PDF submissions. You must upload the complete book in order to participate in the Search Inside program. The reason for this is so they can provide optimal search functionality for a given book. Download the attachment. You’ll need to carefully read and follow the directions in that attachment once you can upload pdf files to the search inside program, so make sure you save it with your finished odf files, so you can reference any time you need to upload PDFs.
Amazon will respond with another email indicating where you would upload your PDF file. Go to http://sellercentral.amazon.com. They will also sign you up for a user account and send a confirmation email from the email address special-pdfs (at) amazon.com, with a subject line that reads, "Invitation to become a Seller Central user for Special PDF Submissions."
In that email, you’ll be prompted to go to a URL and create a new user account with an existing amazon customer account. Once that account is registered, a confirmation code will appear on the sceen. Email the confirmation code to special-pdfs@amazon.com. Once the confirmation code is verified, you can start uploading PDFs at http://sellercentral.amazon.com
